The BMW 428i is the latest addition to the ever growing vehicle line-up from Munich. Formerly the 328i coupe, the new 4-series looks to separate itself from the 3-series sedan on which it is based by offering more aggressive styling and sportier driving.
The 428i is available in rear- or xDrive all-wheel drive and is powered by a 240-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual transmission (RWD only) or an eight-speed automatic. Standard safety features include eight airbags, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with adaptive brakelights, traction and stability control, active anti-whiplash head restraints, and BMW Assist eCall which includes emergency request and automatic collision notification. BMW's Air Curtain, auto stop-start, and Brake Energy Regeneration alternator help to make the 428i more efficient.
The Toyota Corolla is a front-wheel drive five-passenger compact sedan, well-known for being reliable and economical, yet refined and comfortable. For 2014 the all-new 11th generation Corolla is distinguished by a new exterior design, an upgraded interior with more passenger room, and a new continuously variable transmission (CVTi-S).
The Corolla is available in four trims: L, LE, S, and new LE ECO. The powertrain for the L, LE, and S trims is a 132 horsepower, 1.8-liter dual VVT-I engine, matched with a six-speed manual, four-speed automatic, or new continuously variable transmission (CVTi-S). The LE ECO includes a 140 horsepower, 1.8-liter engine with Valvematic, combined with the CVTi-S transmission. Safety features include front, side-impact, side-curtain, and new drivers knee airbags, ABS with brake assist, and whiplash protecting front seat active head restraints. Air conditioning and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control are also standard on all models. All Corollas now include LED headlamps, Bluetooth, a USB port, and power windows. Taller, wider and longer the Toyota 4Runner is a sport utility vehicle that combines true off-road competence with everyday driving comfort, refinement and safety. Refreshed and updated inside and out for 2014 the mid-size 4Runner is a distinctive choice in the SUV market.
The SR5 and Limited trims are available in rear- or four-wheel drive. A Trail Edition with rear locking differential, crawl control, rock rails and moonroof is only available in four-wheel drive. Each trim has a five-speed automatic transmission and a 270-hp 4.0-liter V6 engine. An optional third-row seat expands passenger capacity to seven. Stability control, traction control, 12 airbags and roll-over sensors are standard. The 4Runner now includes Toyotas' Entune Audio Plus infotainment system and a rearview camera as standard equipment. Premium audio with navigation, SmartKey keyless entry with pushbutton start, front and rear sonar system, and a power moonroof are all available features.
The Toyota FJ Cruiser, with styling cues reminiscent of Toyota's famed FJ40 4x4 utility vehicle, blends off-road legacy with modern power, comfort, safety, and convenience technology.
The FJ Cruiser is available in one trim with a choice of three drivetrains: a rear-wheel-drive version equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, a part-time four-wheel-drive version with a five-speed automatic transmission, or a full-time four-wheel-drive version with a six-speed manual transmission. All versions are powered by a 259 hp 4.0-liter V-6 engine. The FJ Cruiser seats up to five passengers. The four-door seven or eight-passenger Sequoia comes in three trims: SR5, Limited and Platinum. Available in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, the Sequoia comes standard with a 381-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It is available in FFV E85 compatiblity as well. Standard safety features include driver and front passenger knee airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, and electronic stability control.
