R&T Overview:

Kia has taken the once so-so Rio subcompact and turned it into a contender in this increasingly crowded marketplace. Right off, you notice the more sporty, sophisticated exterior styling, thanks to new sculpted contours and a posture that makes a 1.6-liter car look fun. Inside, the Rio delivers high marks for its class. The design not only ensures you won’t be bored behind the wheel, the newly extended wheelbase offers expanded passenger room. Fuel economy gets a boost with the 1.6-liter Gasoline Direct Injection engine when equipped with Idle Stop and Go system, which shuts off the engine when the car is at rest. There are three trim models: LX, EX and SX. Unfortunately, for driving aficionados, the 6-speed manual is only available in the LX, while EX and SX get the mandatory 6-speed automatic. Choose the Rio 5-Door hatchback…really.

R&T Overview:

If you love the tidiness and crisp handling of a Mini but don't see much use for those cramped rear quarters, then the Mini Coupe may just be the perfect vehicle for you. Available in all trims from the standard base Cooper, sporty S and fire-breathing JCW, the Coupe streamlines the greenhouse and nixes the rear seats, providing extra dedicated cargo capacity, a torsionally stiffer chassis (reinforced aft the front seats) and a sportier profile. A Mini first is the new retractable rear spoiler that deploys at 50 mph for added downforce. The roof makes a bold character statement in traditional Mini fashion, and is available in red, black or silver. For even more boldness, you can further customize it with racing stripes or even side graphics called Mini Tattoo.

R&T Overview:

While the majority of Grand Cherokees sold will never see a dirt road, let alone a genuine 4x4 trail, buyers can be confident that their “Trail Rated” midsize SUV can put its rivals to shame on the rough stuff. But roughing it is not what the Grand Cherokee is about. It’s about a premium driving environment in a rock-ready 4x4. Last year’s remake addressed many nagging issues with the Grand, such as cramped second-row quarters and underwhelming interior quality. The new Selec-Terrain and Quadra-Lift air suspension systems deliver improved on- and off-road performance (courtesy of five drive settings), and the new Overland Summit model raises luxury to decadent levels. Returning for 2012 is the fire-breathing SRT8—a boulevard screamer high on sporty moves, a sporty cockpit and the 6.4L Hemi’s insane 470 bhp.
