Get Set for the Revamped 2012 Kia Rio Kicar

R&T Overview:

Kia has taken the once so-so Rio subcompact and turned it into a contender in this increasingly crowded marketplace. Right off, you notice the more sporty, sophisticated exterior styling, thanks to new sculpted contours and a posture that makes a 1.6-liter car look fun. Inside, the Rio delivers high marks for its class. The design not only ensures you won’t be bored behind the wheel, the newly extended wheelbase offers expanded passenger room. Fuel economy gets a boost with the 1.6-liter Gasoline Direct Injection engine when equipped with Idle Stop and Go system, which shuts off the engine when the car is at rest. There are three trim models: LX, EX and SX. Unfortunately, for driving aficionados, the 6-speed manual is only available in the LX, while EX and SX get the mandatory 6-speed automatic. Choose the Rio 5-Door hatchback…really.

R&T Overview:

Lexus wants to inject some sportiness and driving excitement into its lineup, and the updated GS sedan represents the brand's first step in this direction. The new spindle grille is the most controversial aspect of the exterior makeover, though the design of the front fascia is not quite as radical as previewed in concept vehicles. The base engine in the rear-wheel-drive GS350 is a 306-bhp 3.5-liter V-6 coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive is optional. A control on the center console allows the driver to choose different driving modes: ECO, SPORT S, and SPORT S+ (available on models equipped with luxury or sport option packages). The performance model is the GS350 F Sport, which includes firmer suspension settings, staggered 19-inch wheels, larger front brakes and a revised aero package. The ride and handling balance is much sharper than you'd expect from a Lexus, a brand that has relied more on high quality rankings and strong dealership service to boost its image.

2013 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Coupe Specifications

Autoesque Dragon 88 Limited Editions

Overview

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S excels in its intended natural environment of the race track, thanks to a razor-sharp seven-speed Sportshift gearbox, wider tyres and a 10bhp power boost over the standard car. Its suspension is even stiffer and lower than that on the previous N420 special edition, and it gets a quicker steering rack, too, so turn-in is instantaneous and body roll practically non-existent. The penalty for this is a harsher ride than Aston Martin owners will be accustomed to, particularly on poor UK roads. If you spend more time in Soho than Silverstone, the Vantage S may not be the ideal Aston for you.
