2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550 2 Valentino Balboni Specs amp Top Speed

R&T Overview:

Lamborghini is celebrating its history of building exciting sports cars with the introduction of the Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. Balboni is the legendary test driver hired by the company’s founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. He has been in every Lamborghini prototype and production car since 1973. The special Gallardo Balboni comes exclusively in rear-wheel-drive form, with chassis and suspension tuned to allow a more dynamic handling character as compared to the all-wheel-drive models. The exterior of the Balboni is distinguished by white and gold stripes running the length of the car. The interior is also unique with mostly black leather upholstery again contrasted by white trim and stripes, and a badge bearing Valentino Balboni’s signature. Only 250 Balbonis will be built. The rest of the Gallardo models remain mostly unchanged.

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-

R&T Overview:

Lamborghini begins a new chapter in its V-12 company flagship lineup with the all-new 2012 Aventador. The Aventador charges ahead with stealth-like exterior and interior styling similar to design cues seen on the limited-production Reventón. Power comes from the new mid-mounted 6.5-liter V-12 rated at 700 bhp and 509 lb.-ft. of torque, and is delivered to the asphalt via a new 7-speed transmission called the ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) and all-wheel drive. Thanks in part to the car’s single carbon-fiber tub that weighs just 325 lb., the Aventador is only 22 lb. heavier than the last lightweight Murciélago SV. According to Lamborghini, the Aventador can accelerate to 60 mph in just 2.9 sec. and reach a top speed of 217 mph.

2011 Lamborghini GALLARDO LP570-4 Superleggera Review, Specs

R&T Overview:

The raging bull from Sant’Agata Bolognese charges into 2011 with an all-new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. Based on the already impressive Gallardo 560-4 (which remains unchanged), the Supperleggera ups its performance with a bump in horsepower to 570, and loses about 154 lb. thanks to extensive use of carbon-fiber components. The lighter Gallardo retains the 6-speed, single-clutch paddle-shift e-gear transmission. For purists, a traditional gearbox is still available as a no-cost option. Maximizing the Superleggera’s 398 lb.-ft. of torque is viscous all-wheel drive that can apportion the power for optimal traction. A limited-slip differential at the rear also helps the car accelerate out of corners quickly.
